We flew to DC for the last convention of the National Order of Battlefield Commissions, an organization that Ron’s dad was a member of, since he had received a commission in the Army when he was in WWII in Italy (Anzio landing). Most of the members are quite old and unable to attend the conventions any more so they are having to close. However, as they were known as the “Mustangs” the organization for their descendants is known as the “Mustang Ponies” and Ron has been associated with it for many years and served also as president. We will continue to meet and celebrate these heroes’ lives, our motto being “We Shall Never Forget.” The website is http://www.mustangponies.org/. Anyone interested is invited to join. (Ron's brother Mer
lyn also attended, he being both a "Mustang" and a "Pony", as he received a direct commission in Vietnam.)
