Pool!

Some of you will remember our son’s vrbo condos here in Renton, WA: the 3 BD had a gorgeous view of Lake Washington and downtown Seattle, and sometimes the Olympic Mountains, especially at sunrise or sunset time, but the 2 BD has a swimming pool (but of course, just in the summertime, and not heated!)  They have sold the 3 BD condo so we are renting the 2 BD one.  Joan tried the pool out yesterday for the first time.  It was chilly, especially at first, but bearable.  (Warmer than one year in the indoor pool at Telemark when she had to get out at 6 laps... when her legs were freezing there.) Today’s legs weren't so bad, but arms were cold?? Hmmmm.  She did 15 laps, then got out... So warm sitting poolside even in a wet suit in 63 degrees but sunny and no wind inside the pool fence.  Today, after a temperature of 75 and sun, the pool was perfect!  And it will only get warmer over the summer days.
     She’s happy!!

A Great Fathers’ Day!

Japonessa restaurant: super good.
Even had suishi without rice for Ron.
Ron had a great Fathers’ Day.   We went to church with our friends who are pastoring a small church about an hour south of Renton near Yelm .. Joan played her violin there, then we had lunch at KFC.  (Yay!  Not busy!)  Then Winnie asked us if we wanted to have Japanese dinner  together in downtown Seattle since she had two performances (she’s playing in the pit orchestra for Porgy and Bess  at the 5th Avenue Theatre, a matinee and an evening performance on Sundays.)  So we met the family downtown at the Japonessa restaurant and had a great and fun dinner and passed out the presents we had brought from Europe to the kids, and then went to the show.

5th Avenue Theatre:
Fancy ceiling and decorations throughout
Dragons everywhere.
