Ron Watches TV with Stuart

Ron likes to get together with Stuart, our good friend from Toronto here at St Augustine, to watch TV together.

We forgot how beautiful Bonnet Creek is

We checked in for two days yesterday in order to attend the annual TUGGER get-together at Golden Corral today, taking a little “vacation” from our St Augustine timeshare stay (hmmmm, isn't that a “vacation” too?)
Looking down from our balcony
The rooms are as usual, large and well-maintained, and we had a beautiful  lake view.

Then we had a beautiful sunset from our balcony...

..and what a gorgeous firework show so close we saw from our balcony last night about 7:30 p.m.  (Where was it from?  We can’t see the Epcot fireworks from this building.)

Joan was able to do her laps in the pool she likes here by Building 4 since it was 70 degrees when we came.  But today, it is a little cooler, but we are looking forward to the time at Golden Corral and then the “dueling piano” show here in the evening, which we always enjoy.

Two glitches in our trip:  1) We were going to drive to Ft Myers tomorrow to visit Ron’s aunt and stay in an Airbnb.  Yesterday she called and said everyone in the  house was totally totally sick and we probably should not come  They have been unable to get rid of it (maybe the flu?) and keep passing it back and forth.  So, we canceled the Airbnb night, which just a small $$ loss; instead of a 3 day trip away from St Augustine then, it will just be two.

A shock here at the resort:  2)There were no DW tabs for the dishwasher under the sink as normal.   Joan tried to call, but never could get through (hmmmm, what if there was an emergency?)  She stopped at the front desk then to ask.  The girl reported that they were low on the inventory.  After three times checking, she said there was not a SINGLE ONE available.  Joan suggested looking in an empty room and maybe borrowing one that would be there… another long wait.  Finally she said the supervisor was buying some and to wait again.  Joan asked if one could be delivered to the room as she needed to move on.  Reluctantly, the girl agreed … but none have shown up.
We may purchase some today while we’re out.
