Beautiful Bellevue Botanical Gardens!

One day, on a nice day in Seattle, friends said, “Let’s eat at the Cheesecake Factory and then go to the Bellevue Botanical Gardens!” and so we did!  We are reacquainting ourselves with Seattle sites since we’ve had more time here.
Everything is so beautiful – especially if the weather is good!

Glad to know that!

Reminds us of the stacked stones in Kona

Lovely pathways

Dry bed streams - Joan likes those

Finally seeing a trillium

Sounds scary

A fun bridge over the ravine!

Beautiful waterfall - small but lovely

Anthony's Restaurant in Edmonds: WOW!

Two years ago, we had met new friends in Hawaii at the Black Sand beach looking at the turtles and we heard them say they were from Lynnwood.   He actually works at Ace Hardware in Mukilteo and they were also staying at Sea Mountain there south of Kona.   They even went to the church that Joan's dad went to, the  Mukilteo Presbyterian Church.  What a small world it is!
We met them the today in Edmonds to have a wonderful dinner at Anthony's,  the casual "café" on the water. It was one of the most delicious meals we have had.  The introductory bread was soft and had lots of herbs in it and was hot, the fish was cooked to perfection.

A great day! "He Is Risen!"

We attended the 8 a.m. service this morning at University Presbyterian Church in the U District in order to hear Andy and Natalie play – and what a great service.  And that pipe organ!!!  And choir!  And the great brass players – Natalie played the first trumpet part and her solos rang out!
We might need to go there every so often to hear such great music!
Afterwards, we returned to our own church in Renton for the services there.

What Great Desserts!

Since the grandkids got out of school early today, we took them to lunch at Red Robin.  We had a great meal of the delicious hamburgers.  Then they asked if they could get dessert…Yep!  A special time today!
Natalie and Clayton knew what they wanted:  two desserts to share!
1.     "Towering Doh! Ring!" Donuts Tower:  a croissant mix with donut mix so it’s not so sweet, but then there is a chocolate dip for them – and they are piping hot!
2.                                                                                              "Mountain High Mudd Pie!"

You will not believe how big the "mud pie" was!
While in the middle of them eating it, Joan remembered about Natalie’s “diet” she had mentioned a couple of weeks ago: no more sweets, only fruits and vegetables!   When asked how her diet was going, she said, "This is not a good time to talk about that!" As she took another bite of the chocolate ice cream!!
