Mushrooms and Classic Cars: Fun in Cable

Today was the Bayfield County Mushroom Foray sponsored by the Cable Natural History Museum.  There was a large display of mushrooms that had been collected the previous days by the club, and then today was the walk in the forest led again by Britt A. Bunyard, mushroom expert.  Joan had hurt her foot and couldn’t walk well, so Ron went on the walk in the forest and they met later when he went to the Classic Car Display at the American Legion.

Such a dispay:  al gathered in the area.  All labeled with their scientific names.  It soon was information overload.

So Many Things To Do Up Here .. in Cable, WI!

Some people think it is boring here since Cable is such a small town and it’s very rural up here (no traffic lights in the entire Bayfield County.)  But today were the Mushroom Walk, The American Legion’s Classic Car, Show, the Farmers Market, and the Art Tour.  The Art Tour is tomorrow, too, so we’ll go then.  Ron also took the boat out for a spin.

     In addition, the Rod and Gun Club is having a Pig Roast this weekend, and the Ashland County Fair is on, workday for the Community Garden, as well as all the “normal” activities available:  mini-golf right here at Telemark, museums, Big Top Chautauqua, Apostles Islands National Park, etc.  And meeting up with our friends.
